The idyllic San Juan Islands are located in the northern reaches of Puget
Sound, some 80 miles north of Seattle in the northwestern corner of the state of Washington. Their natural beauty, equitable climate and relaxed life-style make them an increasingly popular place with vacationers as well as retirees. Over the years, the San Juan’s have been included in various lists of America’s most desirable places to live. There are approximately 172 islands in the group, depending on how you count them. The four largest and most populated are accessible by Washington State Ferries out of nearby Anacortes.
- San Juan Island
- Orcas Island
- Lopez Island
- Shaw Island
Waldron, Stuart, Blakely and Decatur Islands also have significant populations although they are only accessible by smaller boats, or by air.
From Olympia to Victoria, the Northwest offers some of the most enjoyable and varied cruising anywhere. Whether a few hours around the bustling shores of Seattle or a week in the picturesque San Juan Islands, a cruise brings out the unique flavor found nowhere else and the memories will bring your guests pleasure for years to come. info@hawaiisailngadventures.com
